cromwell 0 Posted March 13, 2006 as some of you may have seen, i was having problems with steam coming from the side of the head of my g60. i changed the coolant flange and that seems to have stopped the steam (cheers steveo29!) but i now have what i think is an air lock in the system somewhere from when i changed the pipe. upper pipes from the radiator are hot, and the lower one is still stone cold, and the fan isnt kicking in even though the oil temperature is at 120 degrees. it was kicking in previously to me changing the coolant flange, hence me thinking its an air lock. what would the easiest way to get rid of this be? thanks a lot 8)
flusted 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Im suffering exatly the same thing. Best proccedure is to run the car up with the header tank cap off and let it boil over as the air rises to the top. I had to remove rad hoses and fill rad with water 1st to remove an airlock in the rad
