can you do vagcom on G60s?

It will report ABS fault codes on a G60 I believe...

is there any way of checking the sensors with say a multimeter?

Yes there is. Have a search, this is a common problem.

VAG-COM works on the G60 ABS unit, but it won't remember the faults, so as soon as you turn the ignition off it's forgotten ... Have to scan it while the ABS light is actually on.

Nope, depending on what verison if digifant you have it will alsogive engine codes as well but only accessible as blink codes and will not remember them and only if the original chip is there or the new one has this functionality

ABS codes are stored in the ABS ecu and these are remembered.

You may be right about the engine codes, but I am pretty certain that only the VR6 had the capability to store ABS error codes, and I thought they were stored by the ECU, not the ABS controller. (Anyway, the VR6 has a completely different ABS controller setup to the G60, afaics.)

It does store them (I have had to clear rear faults after being on RR sessions etc)

The ECU is different as you say because the VR6 has the traction control

this is what ive had of RW1

Firstly, fault 00532 is not being caused by the disconnection of the battery. The ABS ECU is fairly dumb and just looses it’s memory faults and re-powers itself without question.
