kongo127 0 Posted April 25, 2006 I reccently bought my second G60 as i had an accident with the other one... This one was built in June 1992 and it´s the JET Edition. Yesterday i had the opportunity to test full throttle on the highway. The Jet´s top speed at the same RPM is much lower than the other Corrado i had before! I believe that this can be related with the gearbox! Because i have swapped all the setup to the Jet. Does anyone know the gearbox ratios of both? 1992 Jet Gearbox Code: CBA 1990 Older G60: ATB I don´t mind at all to swap gearboxes, though i would like some information, and your opinon please! What do you think about this?
VEEDUBBED 0 Posted April 25, 2006 Have a look using the search button, there was a good guide on the '92 'CBA' and 'ATA' 'boxes showing both unit's ratios etc.
kongo127 0 Posted May 7, 2006 After some research about 02A Gearbox ratios... I found this ratio table and customized with only ATB and CBA. :) The main question is that i feel a significant difference between both. My first 1990 Corrado G60 had a ATB Gearbox. My actual 1992 G60 Jet has a CBA gearbox. I wonder why they called it Jet... I don´t understand much about advanced mechanics. Is it possible to understand the main gearbox differences looking at this table? Which one should i keep? :?:
Yandards 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Cool my table is being used! If you have a look at the end of the wiki document there is a link to an excel spreadsheet where you feed in some of the gearbox info. It will then tell you road speed and rpm at that speed. That should then give you an idea of why one feels different to the other and what the relative revs per gear are. kongo127 0 Posted May 8, 2006 Wow! This is absolutly wonderful! :D Now i understand what´s happening. Just as i suspected, the Jet´s Gearbox (CBA) is shorter and has less top speed than the ATB! :? Why in fact do they call this car JET??? It´s much more fun to drive the ATB! 8) I´m going to swap the gearboxes or even only the ATB final drive into the CBA. Any opinions? young lad 0 Posted May 8, 2006 very interesting, so let me get this straight, observing the graph, the CBA is quicker ?? so my g60 being a 1992 model has a CBA in it ? By the way do you change at 58mph from 2nd to 3rd ? is that normal for g60's ? (thats once hitting red line ?)
Yandards 0 Posted May 23, 2006 Young lad have a look at the article on the KB about gearbox ratios, if you then use the link at the bottom of the article to the excel spreadsheet you can enter gearbox ratrios from the kb tables and work out what revs / gear in relation to road speed.
