g60 cam timing?

im not totaly convinced my g60 cam timing is right...will i hurt anything if i move it 1 tooth and try it??

Why dont you check it with a timing light?

 

or get someone to check it for you.

its the cam mark im unsure of. there plenty of pics on here to show the 2 dots lining up with a line on the tin back plate. mine doesnt have a line on there

Try lining up the mark on the camshaft pulley such that the tin plate lies inbetween the 2 dots. That's what did it for me :-)

ok ive checked it over again, im pretty sure its okay....my rocker cover has a V molded onto it...it lines up with that

Could anyone grab a pic of this please?

 

Is the slash in the backplate not the mark to use? Or are you supposed to line up with the face of the head/cam cover?

Ahh..... I dont think that line is very clear from last time I did it.

you can check ignition timing this way but not cam timing.
