imyhamid 0 Posted June 21, 2006 Hi all just wondered if anyone has some advice on the choice of rubber (make&size) i should get for my porsche rims. They are 7x16 all round. Would like them sort off streched over the rims. Cheers for any advice.

dazzyvr6 0 Posted June 21, 2006 if you want them stretched then you will need to go for something like 185 or 195's
ben16v 0 Posted June 21, 2006 i`ve got rainsports on my wheels same size, no stretch really, buy wider wheels!! good tyres though

imyhamid 0 Posted June 22, 2006 how about the rain sport 195/ 40/ 16 how would they look.
StuartFZR400 0 Posted June 22, 2006 195/40 or 205/40 works fine on a 17" wheel. I'd suggest you get a 45 profile tyre since you've got a 16" wheel. As for width I prefer fatter & flatter 205's on a 7j. More grip. Its entyrely up to you; also try Tyre Bible if unsure. Did you read the Sticky TYRE Discussion thread? Kevin Bacon 5 Posted June 22, 2006 205/45 16 Uniroyal Rain Sport 1's But make sure they're the W rated ones as they have a stiffer sidewall. Ideally the tyre width should match the rim width for optimum sidewall integrity.....so 195 for 7J, 205 for 8J and so on... I know VW fitted 205 balloons to 6.5J rims, but it's not the best way of doing things...imo.
