Goldie 2 Posted September 4, 2006 When taking the covers off what tool did any one use, was it a special thing or did you just use a torx bit?? Thought id best ask as i dont fancy fluffing it!! Cheers
andyVR6 0 Posted September 4, 2006 you need the special multi splined bit. you usually get them in the torx kits. you can sometimes do them with a normal allen key if there not too tight, the allen key has to have a flat face not domed.
andyVR6 0 Posted September 4, 2006 you will also need a plug lead removal tool aswell to remeove the plug leads. dont pull on the lead whatever you do
Goldie 2 Posted September 4, 2006 Job done!! Managed with an allen key as they werent really that tight. Can definitely confirm that HT lead removal /refitting is a pain in the backside!!!

Critical_Mass 10 Posted September 15, 2006 Im not going to go do it, but why does a tool have to be used? P.S found the thread regarding the tool, cheers VR6Storm
craigowl 0 Posted September 15, 2006 Someone on here sells them for £15 - I got one - plenty of others got one. I think it was zerocool. Use search - there's plenty about them.
vr6storm 0 Posted September 15, 2006 the confines of the engine make it near enough if not impossible to get the leads off/on without "snatching" the leads and risk damaging them.......as standard all VR's came with a plastic removal tool on the bonnet stay but this has about as much use a chocolate fireguard
