Riley 0 Posted September 30, 2006 Is there an average power increase when running a front mount intercooler? i know it will probably vary depending whats used but is there an average number? Just that im gonna be putting hella work into fitting one  Neil.
smee 0 Posted October 1, 2006 I wouldn't mind knowing either, as my insurance caps me at 210bhp...
W3RKD 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Both the golf/Corrado came from the factory with the same power. Albiet the golf with a huge front mount intercooler.
Shaggy 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Theres no really increase in power really, afaik, its just that the FMIC works soo much better on the hotter days! really really noticable
Riley 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Mmmmm,interesting... So its more a case of capping the power loss in hot weather? Must say it makes a hell of a difference on the rado imo,hot weather = slow as shit. :( Anyone using a sierra cosworth 4x4 intercooler? Neil. :)
Shaggy 0 Posted October 1, 2006 i was looking into this b4 my golf fmic?? apparently they fit quite nicely?? and they work quite well aswell...?
Riley 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Cool, would be good to know how well they work? I like the quality of it,nice depth.Should be a decent compromise size wise as far as pressure drop too? And i had to go for one because its black 8) Not sure about the fitting, its not just as wide as the radiater but im fitting it in an unconventional and silly, and hard work place...if all goes to plan.  Neil. BigTartanJudge 0 Posted October 1, 2006 Not necessarily true about there not being an increase in power, have seen gains of 8-10 BHP on G60 engines with the addition of a front-mounted intercooler.
