flusted 0 Posted October 27, 2006 Just checking out my timing marks today and not sure if i am a tooth out? Car pulls very well low down but appears to tail off higher up rpm. Hate the marks on the 8v as never sure if its inline with head or rocker cover? Possibly the cam is a tooth advanced? Heres the pic
Shaggy 0 Posted October 27, 2006 does the tooth cutout line up with the timing mark on the rocker cover? the two marks have got to sit either side of the timing mark on the rocker cover?? is there a small dot timing mark on the other sode of the cam pulley roughly in the middle of the 2 on the outside? kongo127 0 Posted October 28, 2006 didnt know there was a mark on the rocker cover  There is another dot but i didnt look to see where it was facing, will check tommorrow Don´t worry about that extra dot. The rocker cover has a facing, which should be placed between the 2 dots on the camshaft. For the crank, you may guide yourself by the flywheel zero mark. The distribuitor has itself a mark for the rotor. Turn the engine by hand before that work, as the belt tends to slip one teeth, check it before starting up.
