flusted 0 Posted November 4, 2006 no that mounts by the battery. Have you checked with multimeter that you have live at the switch etc
2_Door_fun 0 Posted November 4, 2006 Yep I have live at the switch. If I short the plug on the loom my fan works fine. I have it wired to a 2 stage switch on the dash. . Actually its just a 2nd fog switch from a Passat. Three wires all from the thermo switch plug Just clip onto the dash switch and click click fan on what ever speed I like. Its just weird that after 3 new rad mounted thermo's the fan still doesn't come on. The run on circuit is fine that works as it should. :?: What do ya mean "Nope that goes by the battery"?? Non by my bat? Is it even for a G60?
g60ff 0 Posted November 4, 2006 I have exactly the same problem, I've changed the rad thermo switch and thermostat as didn't think the bottom half of the rad was getting hot, it definitely is now but still no fans. Fan run-on works fine but same as you do not have the fan control box thing that you've pictured and can find no relays behind the glove box. Have live at the wires on the rad and shorting them starts the fans, I thought as long as there was power and the rad switch working the fans should run? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the fans? Had a manual on CD but i've lost it!

2_Door_fun 0 Posted November 5, 2006 can only be switch if power is there and fan works Cheers flusted a 'what' kind of answer is that??....... Do you not read. There is power to the loom on my car and on g6off's car. The question I asked is.. Read the first post. You said it goes by the battery... What does. There is no relay by my battery. Forums suffer due to poor knowledge or answers supplied by othere users. Ya know a little bit of knowledge is dangerous. g60ff is a new user and may no nothing about a Corrado. I have rebuilt mine from the ground up. The only thing to get working is my rad fan. I would like it to work as it should.

What other checks have you done so we can help you elimenate this issue.
Supercharged 2 Posted November 5, 2006 Here is where it locates... (Sorry only got a VR pic on my laptop but same as a G60)
2_Door_fun 0 Posted November 5, 2006 Errr Thanks guys. NO its a big No I don't have that in my engine bay. Does the fan need it to spin up? I was not sure about the part on Ebay. You know what its like oh yes this part fits all cars for a quick sale. So A G60 would def have it. All I have is a loom feeding from near the headlights to the fan motor and then to the thermo switch on the rad. I picked up a new loom from a Passat and tried that 3 thermo switch's 2 VAG 1 unipart style. As I said with the fan wired to a dash switch it works fine. Although The run on does not work due to the circuit being attached to the switch. I guess it kills the power. I've circled my connector with wires to the dash switch. Ya can also see my top hose taped up. It split the otherday!!! Cheers guys.
2_Door_fun 0 Posted November 11, 2006 Well I was at an interview for a new job Nr Stanstead airport this week. On the way home my boost pipes bust like a field gun with a grenade down the barrel. So I stopped in at Not Escorts in St Neots (Cambridgeshire) where I used to live. Picked up ne rubber hoses and a new hard boost pipe the on that fits to the inlet. Weird it was a different shaper to my old 1. Even more fun once fitted I was able to finally fit the shifter weight to the selector tower. Wow what a difference that makes. :D Super smooth changes. Always wondered why my pipes were in the way. Whilst at Not Escorts we talked about my lack of Fan problem. The guys there said that the relay and bracket that I saw on Ebay was only fitted to later cars??? Anybody want to carry on with this post and help me.
