MFA reading 99.9mpg

Recommended Posts

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

The mpg function on my MFA always reads 99.9. I've tried zeroing it on numbers 1 and 2 but the reading still jumps to 99.9. The rest of the MFA works fine (albeit with the top half of the digits dimming occasionally) and i get very good fuel economy. It would just be nice if this function was working as the rest are. Many thanks in advance.

i guess its a 16v or G60??

I'm sure its the same as sciroccos and MkII's. yes its either a leak in the vacuum pipe going to the back of the dash, or the little vaccum sensor that sits on the back of the instrument cluster that the pipe goes to.... i imagine there are many cars across the range with the same sensor you could easily nab from a scrappy... maybe check ETKA for part number?!?

Yeah its a 16v. Can i check & fix the vac pipe and/or sensor from within the engine bay or do i need to get behind the instrument cluster?

Stupid question number 2 What is ETKA?

That depends which side of the bulkhead it's leaking from.

ETKA is the VW parts database, as used by the dealers.
