-Neil- 0 Posted November 24, 2006 My car used to.... Idle so lumpy the revs would go right down to 0 and cut back in and nearly stall and be all over the place. Cut out when coasting to a halt. When i dipped the gas the revs would drop then go up! Well i brought contact cleaner from maplins... http://www.maplin.co.uk/free_uk_deliver ... r_4153.htm and sprayed it all over MAF inners and the MAF plug (had green corosion on it), i then i let it dry. and now the car idles PERFECTLY and doesnt stall or revs drop at all! im so happy! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 24, 2006 Nice one! As a side note, the MAF connections should not be corroded if the waterproofing seal in the plug is present ;-) They often drop out over the years.....

CrazyDave 0 Posted November 25, 2006 Same stuff I used on my MAF, does the trick. Also works well if you have the 1 second running immob cutout problem. Pull the connector on the lead from the ignition barrel pickup, give it a good squirt and no probs since. Keep the tin in the car just in case it decides to do it while out and about. Beat the stealer option of replacing the whole pickup and box (so you get a gold plated connector instead of a tin one approx £200).
