Golf G60 FMIC questions

Recommended Posts

So...I've got a golf g60 i/c (the big one that isn't the rallye one) and all the pipework from i/c to t/b, and I just won a rallye u-bend on the 'bay, but I still need the hose from the u-bend to the i/c. So far the options seem to be: OEM part if I can find one, or Bar-tek silicone one, or the Samco hose kit?

Does anyone know if the samco u-bend to i/c hose is the right size for the non-rallye intercooler? As the rallye one has a larger inlet (doesn't it??)

Also, how much of the flanges on the top of the cooler need shaving off? Right down to the top of the core or less?

If anyone has any other handy hints (I have read as many of the other similar threads as I can find and I'm reasonably confident) then post 'em here! If I have presence of mind to take some photos when I do this, I'll try and do a "how to" later.

If you a prepared to go with Blue Smaco's they can be found for £70 a set in a few places. THis replaces all 3 of the boost hoses.

That's what I was thinking, but is the u-bend to i/c one the right diameter at the i/c end?

I thought that one was the last hose before the throttle body? Anyhoo I found the samco kit for £70 on ebay so went for that.

Don't know for certain, but at that price i'll make it fit! (or sell that hose to a rallye owner and keep looking!)
