I asked the bloke who took me in that about teaching me to use the Cerb. He wants to take it to Brunthingthorpe for lessons as anywhere else would be too dangerous! Need to get the setup checked before booking, cant wait!! CaiosG60 PWR 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Got in it today and the clutch pedal was fubar. Pressed it down only came back up half way. Bloke at Austec racing who rebuilt it all, said it was probably only and air lock and talked me through geting it sorted. £3.99 for some fluid and 1/2 hour messing around, clutch now feels mint. Bargain!

biggerbigben 0 Posted March 7, 2007 Perhaps another TVR may be on the cards - who knows! Anybody fancy a well sorted & low mileage G60????! There that sort of car. The idea of geting one just grows and grows until its got to be done. (In your case again 8) ) Love it! I had a piece of one in my C once upon a time ;-) What happened to your interior, change of plans? Not sure you can be any more outrageous than that. By the way got any bits knocking about? [/quote:353b5] Not any longer chap.. well I have buttons, indicators, steering wheels (they fetch a bit) etc.. if you need anything let me know - have alot of dash wiring kicking about etc. Change of plans - maybe.. had the car over 5 years now, I just fancy a change! lol

My rear demister button needs a tap for the light around it to come on. You got one of those? How did you indicators work? They work weird as standard on Cerberas. ReekieVR 0 Posted March 8, 2007 Nice one another TVR on the Corrado forum! 8) JonRB has a Chim as well and posts on Pistonheads too ( i think he spends more £ on his Vr tho.. ). 3 of us now ! I think the Raddo is a gateway car - it leads on to more extreme, rare, beautiful ( and pocket damaging ) cars later in life. I look foward to the day when most Raddo owners have a spare one in the garage ... :)

Kick Up The Rs 0 Posted March 9, 2007 OK, I'll have to put a damper on things:- The clutch slave cylinder seals will fail and it's a gearbox out jobby as the slave cylinder is inside the bellhousing due to clearance issues. Me and my big mouth, sorry er Keyboard. There is a later set of slave seals available which should prevent this. By the way as your car started as a 4.2, which clutch does it have? IIRC the 4.5 clutch came with the bigger bellhousing and a different slave cylinder which rectified the weak seal issue. The easy way to know if you've got the later or earlier clutch is whether you get any drivetrain vibration or resonance in 3rd gear which is an indication of the earlier 4.2 clutch. And don't worry, I've been there!

samg60 0 Posted March 15, 2007 Hi Cai, only just seen your post your inane message on my phone at 5:30am in the morning now makes sense, was going to ring you back but figuered you would be in hiding as you had rang at that time of the morning, hope your car is back on the road soon, its made me hurry up and start organising new things like con rods and turbos for mine just so I can keep up. PS go and have a look at Forza motorsport 2 website then go and buy a 360 will ya. Ta for now :-)
GIXXERUK 0 Posted March 18, 2007 i'm soo tempted to buy one of these or a tuscan but they scare me , every ad says 20k miles rebuilt engine :-(
Stan 24v 0 Posted March 18, 2007 One of my favourite cars of all time 8) And obviously with the TVR garage, and specialists, around the corner I get to see them fairly often ;)
Lippy 0 Posted March 19, 2007 gixxer, FWIW the rebuilt engines are a good sign - means that the early issues have been fixed and built to a later spec. If you can pick a sp6 engine TVR up for 17-18k, a bill for 5k for an engine rebuild would still "only" be 23k - fapping fast car for that money, and then you get out and can look at it ;) Cai - have you got an xbox 360? have you sent me a friend request? ben16v 0 Posted March 19, 2007 Lippy, i think he has just been out spending on an XBOX. Caios any updates mate did give you a ring over the weekend but no answer
CaiosG60 PWR 0 Posted March 19, 2007 i'm soo tempted to buy one of these or a tuscan but they scare me , every ad says 20k miles rebuilt engine :-( Personally I wouldn’t touch a Speed6 engine. Even the bloke that designed it (Al Melling) says that TVR messed up his design and produced an engine that will blow its head apart over and over again. Something to do with the cam alignment and the angle of the valves being wrong. The AJP8 (4.2 and 4.5) have a very good reputation, for a TVR engine. Some of the early 4.2 engines have a badly cast crank in them which have been known to snap. But this was sorted about mid 1998. Some 4.5 engines are now on 100K plus without ever having a rebuild. Cai - have you got an xbox 360? have you sent me a friend request? Yeah mate, been a busy Xbox360 weekend! Lippy, i think he has just been out spending on an XBOX. Caios any updates mate did give you a ring over the weekend but no answer Ben, get an Xbox360 mate!!! Started trying to fix it myself but gave up as it was impossible on axle stands and its been taken to a garage on a wagon. Big TVR style bill on the way.........
