do GSF do such a thing as a service pack?

Recommended Posts

Do GSF do something like a service kit for specific cars. Such as fuel filter, air filter oil drain kit ect.

Im having a look at the website now and its rubish.

What Im looking for is all the bits im going to need for a major service on my Vr.

Why not just buy all the bits seperate?

Bone idleness. That's the trouble with the youth of today

Well instead of all of these thoroughly useless bits of free advice, is there a definitive list of what would be needed for a service on a VR?

Hmmm, ages don't quite work out. Think ZippyVR6 should be saying that instead.

Surely the Bentley manual will have the service lists?

I would have thought for a major:

Oil+filter, air filter, brake+clutch fluid. Also check the brakes and sparks and general condition of leads, hoses, pipes and dizzy.

That's only my personal opinion. I suppose you could look in a Haynes for another vehicle and go by that?

Mat, Corrado dude, thank you Thats the kind of thing I was getting at. I was hoping there would be somewhere on the forum a list of things you need, but a run through like that will do just as well. Ive been getting stroppy with the mostly useless downloadable cattalogue from GSF, as searching for stuff is neigh on imposible.

They did a few years back for golfs but I'd use proper VAg stuff for a VR - the Mann filters that GSF sell are no where near is good quality, they're not what they use to be when they were autocavan!!!

Either that or you could ring the dealers and ask them what they would do for the mileage on the car.

Id agree with everything Corradude listed. Coolant flush and fuel filter at a couple of extras..

The Corrado owner's book includes bullet points of what needs doing at each service interval, you can work it out from that.

Surely it would be roughly a follows:

Oil

Oil Filter

Air filter

Spark plugs (if it needs them)

Fuel filter

Dizzy Cap (does a vr have these?)

Rotor arm ( " " )

Belts

A top up with coolant (g11 or g12 i think)

Then more things will get done as you find faults!! ha ha like cv boots etc etc... GSF if you call them should sort you out.... Filters are cheap from the stealers too if you prefer genuine!

matt
