Vag-com error code

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what the Vag-Com error code $9C9C means I get it when I try to scan with the engine runing. Its all fine with the engine off, but once started I get the faut code and unable to connect. Ive got an aftermarket lead by the way.

"error code" and "unable to connect" are not compatible statements - if you can't connect to the ECU, how can it send you an error code?

Sounds like the software is unable to interpret what the ECU is telling it.....either that or your cable is giving a rogue signal. Have you tried your cable and software on a normal VR6 to see if it works? I assume you have as you had a 12V before?

Have you checked VAG-COM's site for any updates / known issues?

Does your aftermarket lead support the dual-k line stuff? Don't you need that for the 24v "proper" OBD2 kit?

I'd be inclined to say that it's your cable most likely, but I guess you can't just swap it for another ...
