biggy 0 Posted March 10, 2007 i have a 1.8 corrado , on the way back from buying the car the water pump went. today i have replaced the water pump and cam belt , but when turning over it will not start. I have traced it down the a spark going to the coil but nothing coming out of it, due to this i now have replaced the coil but its still not starting. advice and help please
VR6 0 Posted March 10, 2007 HT lead(s)? Dodgy spark plug(s)?
Goldie 2 Posted March 10, 2007 As VR6 says it must be either the leads or plugs. Try pulling a plug out, turning it over and see if you have a spark..

mattkh 0 Posted March 12, 2007 Hi Pull the fuel pump relay out and clean the contacts. Then push it back in. When you turn the ignition on you should hear the fuel pump prime.
corrado-chris 0 Posted March 13, 2007 Sounds like you ignition module the same happened to me, wouldnt start no spark and the fuel pump wouldnt work! Its under scuttle panel next the ecu! Hope this helps!
DiTch 0 Posted March 15, 2007 check the battery earth lead , may only be a few strands holding it to the clamp
Yandards 0 Posted March 15, 2007 The earths are pretty critical on the early valvers and you may well have disturbed one with the water pump work. As has been mentioned previously the fuel pump should run then stop once the system have been pressurised with the key in the run position and the engine off.
