blue95 0 Posted August 8, 2007 FYI - Thought I would share the joy..... Just purchased some rear bearings for the car, didn't want to go to ECP as I prefer to stay OEM. But when I enquired as to the brand was very surprised to find they are stocking FAG bearings. Needless to say I purchased 2! at a fraction of the price the dealer was charging (even with my 10% discount!).
Supercharged 2 Posted August 8, 2007 They are not OEM tho - VW use SKF or INA usually (Rear bearings are SKF) FAG are about as good as your going to get tho for a pattern part!
blue95 0 Posted August 8, 2007 Intresting, as the manufacturer ECP had listed for the rears was RUVILLE, as I understand from some of the BMW forums, RUVILLE and INA bearings are made by the same company and are OEM on BMW. Can't really lose if thats the case then. :D
Kevin Bacon 5 Posted August 8, 2007 All you need to know is avoid the 'VTECH' bearings from GSF as they are utter, utter, utter, utter and in case you didn't hear me, utter, garbage. They literally last a week! And FAG, hmmm, that's just too comical to take seriously.....so SKF it is!
