Fitting tie/track rods on a vr?

Recommended Posts

Just a few quick questions, i won't natter on

1. Is a Track rod another name for tie rod or are they different things?

2. Does the rack have to be removed on a VR to fit the rods that go into it?

3.The manual i have mentions thread lock, and cleaning the thread out, is this reason for removing it?

4.Also there is mention of one adjustable rod and one fixed one when the car leaves factory, but you can't buy one of them, can't remember which? could this be what causes dodgy steering

Anyone know what size hex the tie rod beneath the rubber boot is?

Cheers.
