MikeVR6 0 Posted November 11, 2003 Couple of questions regarding these: Did these come as standard on ANY Corrados or were they a cost option? If so, how much were they originally? Do they light up green like the rest of the dash? Cheers Mike
G60Jet 1 Posted November 11, 2003 As far as i know they were an optional extra on all models. Early models had two round VDO gauges later models had a custom unit with them in with Corrado on them. The OEM ones will be green, but after market ones such a Autometer ones come this Caps that cover the bulbs. The early panels are discontinued, i dont know if the OEM gauges are still available. One of the companies that sells OEM parts did have some of the later type left. but i dont know now. They sell for silly money on ebay, but there are LHD and RHD versions

Henny 0 Posted December 15, 2003 does anyone know where i can get a set of centre console VDO gauges for my C please? Cheers. Plonk a new thread in the wanted section... MikeVR6 0 Posted December 15, 2003 Good luck Del. The gauges are easy enough to get, any VW/Audi breakers should be able to help. It's the panel that they go in that's hard to get. Originally £7 from VW, now deleted :( I bought mine on E-Bay for ....... £43  Looks nice though. 8)

crazymarcel 0 Posted December 17, 2003 The rhd units i can get are the later style ones, Although Del if you got a part number for the vdo style panel i can see if i can get it for you? I think some dealers are more helpful then others.

DEL VR6 0 Posted February 28, 2004 i still want a set of these... seen a few on Ebay but Corrado parts on Ebay go for silly money. Other thought is that i would loose quite a handy space for keeping things like CD's, sunglasses, keys, general stuff! will have to see whether its really worth it or not. they do look seriously cool tho! I went to the local VAG dealer today. They looked it up but all that they could tell me is that it is an obsolete piece of trim. If your are sue it is the older style VDO type, I'll order one tommorrow. Thanks.. Mike *mod edit - Sorted out your quote for you - Henny*
kvwloon 0 Posted March 2, 2004 If you wanted to go the cheaper 'early' style instead of expensive (but rather smart) custom pod , you can always make your own flat gauge panel using some alloy sheet, say 1.5mm thick, and make 52mm holes to sit standard VDO gauges in. It's just possible to fit three VDO guages (oil temp / oil press. and voltage ) in this way....the gauges are in-line properly BTW, piccy a bit distorted by digicam.... emax 0 Posted March 26, 2004 Looks like the guage panel has been obseleted as of the 18th March. I had some on order and they had run out of stock. They put in a request to the manufacturer to make another 10 or so but the manufacturer declined. Anyone with some gauges to sell, give me a shout as I'll make you a very good offer for them. The only other option I was thinking of was to arrange a group buy. If we could get enough guaranteed orders, perhaps we could approach VW with a bulk order and it might be make more economic sense for them to get them made up?? Cheers, Euan.
