Dip in revs when I pull away

Recommended Posts

Hi chaps,

Bit of an odd thing I've recently noticed with my Corrado VR6.

When I'm stationary and I pull away from a junction/traffic lights etc I notice that the revs dip a bit when I start to take my foot of the clutch pedal to engage it. Also a bit of a sqeek :? The revs when idle are just above 500rpm (which I'm told is normal for a VR6).

Please tell me I don't need a new clutch!

Cheers,

D.

Shiiiiiit  How much is that going to set me back then? The labour charges over here aren't too bad, 'bout 69 Euros an hour.

lol, dont take my word for it, wait till someone who knows what they're talking about comes along ;)

cost-wise, dealer clutch in the uk is about £150 and maybe 3-4 hours labour??

So about 600 quid then!

I assume you are taking into account that the engine is now pulling a car rather than just spinning over....

My car dips the revs when you start to lift the clutch and pull away, I just give it more gas mate!

It won't be the clutch.

I took it to VW today and they said not to worry about it. Guess I'll leave it, its not really a big deal.
