kent cams G60

hi all

 

right project g60 is being started as soon as the P&P head in done so now its time to think about the cam i had a look at kent cams website and the only G60 they list is for the golf is the golf engine the same as the corrados?

Its the same engine but dont bother with a kent, use a shrick from g-werks.

stick with the G-werks one if you check out most peoples build specs on here they have most gone for the G-werks one

nothing wrong with them, just not as good a scrick. the schrick is a split duration

What exactly does the split duration do/mean compared to my Piper 285?

split duration as I understand means that the inlet valves and exhaust valves have different durations.

yeah i think as above, so 1 set of 4 valves stay open for longer than the other 4.( not sure wheather its inlet or exhaust though).

I had a Newman cam which I was pleased with on my G - G Werks set it up for me with a Schrick map and it worked a treat. You could always get Newman to grind you a Scrick profiled cam. You pay a lot of money for the brand with Schrick - it's only a lump of machined metal after all
