thebigjc420 0 Posted June 17, 2008 The Corrado has been sat on the driveway for about 3 months now, i have recharged the battery and put it in. When i put the key in the ignition the relay (167) starts to buzz, the dash lights don't come on! - what could this be...? the car will not start, doesn't even try! i thank you for your help
daves16v 1 Posted June 17, 2008 Buggered battery or charger?
boost monkey 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Yeah, check the battery for sure! Dash lights are LED and don't need much to go on, so I'd say the battery is dead.....still :brickwall:
thebigjc420 0 Posted June 17, 2008 I was hoping you guys would say that, my battery charger is a bit dodgy. Voltmeter said battery has 11.6v...?
dr_mat 0 Posted June 17, 2008 How long did you charge for? 11.6v is a "100% flat, but not dead" battery.
thebigjc420 0 Posted June 17, 2008 It was charging overnight...
dr_mat 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Then I think your charger is pushing up daisies .. Or (extremely unlikely) your battery won't accept charge. If the battery was genuinely gone, I'd expect to see less than 11.6V. Try another charger.
thebigjc420 0 Posted June 17, 2008 Nice one! thanks for your advice... i have text a mate, got one coming tomorrow. Cheers :)
fla 9 Posted June 27, 2008 check your charge by shorting it. If it trips and resets then you should be ok. Also, it should spark when you short the croc clips. Put the voltmeter across it to see the output you get and put an ammeter in-line to see the current when connected to a load (eg your battery)
