H8RRA 0 Posted July 4, 2008 just chaned all timing gear, flywheel, clutch etc and out all back together but have a problem with the geaer linkage. The linkage and counterweight are very loose and the gear selection very sloppy. It seem correctly put together but its far from good in operation. looked at pic in the wiki but can't see anything incorrectly assembedl. anyone had suc problems or suggestion toe resolve slopy linkage/loose counterweight ? davidwort 0 Posted July 4, 2008 I take it you didn't remove the shift tower from the box and just unclipped/unbolted the shift and selector cables, did you remember the thick round washer under the cable end on the counterweight/shift cable fixing bolt? Toad 0 Posted July 4, 2008 I've got one on my phone, but no cable. I'll pm you my number so I can send it to you if you want. Basically it's linkage, washer, cable end, bolt, shift wieght, nut, from the bottom up. The washer has to be the right size, ie. doesn't go over the stepped section of the bolt.
