G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted July 10, 2008 now ive lowered my VR6 a bit, the CAT shield under the car has come loose and is knocking on the ground. DOH! now i know the easy thing to do is to go and get it welded back on there properly, BUT do i actually need it? i mean i could just go over another speedbump and take it off again? what do you guys do with stainless exhausts ? Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 10, 2008 am sure i've heard people say on here that you can just cut it off, but watch out if you park on long dry grass as it can burn from the heat

was8v 0 Posted July 11, 2008 Yeah they fitted them cos cars kept setting fire to things underneath (and then the car) when parked up after a run. Also be careful if you do remove it that the cat itself doesn't hit speed bumps, they aren't cheap......
mk1g60 0 Posted July 11, 2008 i would rip it off, surely you would scrap the cat if your welding to it ?

Jim Bowen 1 Posted July 11, 2008 mine is making a noise, keep meaning to get under car and have a look, am sure i bottomed out on some grassy bank earlier and the cat shield was to blame
