AB 0 Posted August 11, 2008 just brought my corrado and the temp took ages to warm up then when driving it would cool off all the way back to below 70. so i done a coolant change and fitted a new thermostat now when driving normally it sits at about 80 degrees, should it not be more like 90?? any one got any other ideas please?? the fans are not running all the time or anything like that. herisites 0 Posted August 11, 2008 The gauge under reads so although it may say 80 its probably more like 85-90. I cant remember exactly how much it under reads by though. It could also have had a low temp stat in it, i have one in mine and when sitting at normal speeds (60-70) my gauge reads about 70-80. But obviously not anymore as you replaced it

Toad 0 Posted August 11, 2008 Has Mike got VagCom or something? Get him to plug it in and go for a drive with the measuring blocks showing, you'll be able to see the temp that the ECU sees from a different sender, which might be different to the one for the gauge.
