was8v 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Yep thats right. Its in a black plastic housing (with a drain plug) on the front of the engine. Later golf VR6 engines had a similar filter but with different shaped plastic ends. IIRC all 2.9 Corrado engiens use those filters pictured.
