Help! I was cleaning out the crud from the scuttle (wet passenger footwell)! and noticed this little fella flapping around. Does anyone know what it should be connected to and where best to get a new one? Its a 2 ltr 16v (9A).

That should be attached to your bonnet, via one of the nuts between hing and the bonnet. No big deal if its broken TBH

I think the replacement from Halford is about £6 and its a bit longer.

Actually earthing on the 16v units is pretty critical, although this one has less of an impact it does help.

This seems to be VERY common. Mine did the same a long time ago.

Doubt it's critical, but on old cars with old electrics, a good earth is always a good idea.
