steveo29 0 Posted May 22, 2009 just tie it up with some string or something yeah?
davidwort 0 Posted May 23, 2009 an engine support beam is a must I'd have said. Probably easier to undo the ball joints and take the frame out with the wishbones still connected
steveo29 0 Posted May 23, 2009 yeah got the engine support bar unsure where the proper engine lift points are on the g60 engine? any ideas
davidwort 0 Posted May 23, 2009 isn't there a hook where the alternator adjuster bracket fises to the head?
steveo29 0 Posted May 23, 2009 theres a hole molded onto the gearbox end of the head...nothing else obvious , im sure i'll figure it out
steveo29 0 Posted July 14, 2009 right ..all done with no big issues drove it home and the steering is now lopsided a bit :( not much maybe like one hour on a clock face any opinions...should i loosen the bolts and see if the frame will settle and re tighten or just pay to get the tracking re set ? davidwort 0 Posted July 14, 2009 I don't think it will make much difference, I just got mine all aligned after dropping the frame, nothing seems to go back spot on with front end work.
Supercharged 2 Posted July 14, 2009 Hi steveo, does the steering actually pull?? If not then just move the wheel but if it does you will need to get it re-alligned front to back as it's probably the thrust angle that's out... Elite in Rainham is probably the best place to go or Stealth of course...
_leon_ 0 Posted July 15, 2009 not sure if i missed a detail here - but is the column definitely put back on the rack pinion correctly?
steveo29 0 Posted July 15, 2009 not sure if i missed a detail here - but is the column definitely put back on the rack pinion correctly? rack wasnt touched ...just unbolted from the frame anyway had it tracked now
Supercharged 2 Posted July 15, 2009 Cool - was the rest of the SF that bad or was there just a defect in part of it like a thin bit? Speaking to my mate last night who has a similarly tidy car but a subframe that's about to fall off...
steveo29 0 Posted July 15, 2009 the rest of was scabby like most are...rot seemed to be that patch only , plenty of rusty crap fell out when i banged it on the floor though gona have the valver one off for a refurb before it gets bad
