And then you come to those of us that aren't paying reasonable amounts...

'95 VR6, 3yrs NCD, fully comp, £200 excess, 30 years old, Reading p/c, clean license: £840

And it was £1100 last year with only 2yrs no claims.

Eagle Star (my previous insurer) quoted me no less than £2564 for the year... Needless to say I'm with Highway now...

Why the hell is a VR6 in insurance group EIGHTEEN!!??

Madness!!!

VR6 Campaign

33 years old, full no claims (about 11 years)

Fully Comp

About £450

My Vento actually costs more to insure, but I've only got 3 years NCB on that.

G60 stage 4, alloys, custom exhaust, coilovers, flowed head...

Fully comp, agreed value, track cover, non limited milage (I do 22K per year!) upto 5weeks foreign F/C insurance and full glass cover.

I've got full protected no claims but with an total (£6K! ) loss just under 4 years ago. I'm a 27 year old engineer living in SE cheshire with a garage....

£750 (ish, can't remember exact figure!) with HIC

With all of my new bits and bobs (1940cc, lightened, balanced, fully flowed, redtops, different pully, TV system, RS bumper etc etc etc) it's looking like it's gonna be just under £1000 F/C... Not too bad I suppose for around 250BHP... :?

27 YO

4 NCD

corrado 2.0 8v

I paid £236 in May to insure a mk2 VR6 (valued at £4000) and they wanted an extra £50 to swap it to the corrado!! after a bit of 'discussion' I got it down to an extra £25 instead. so if it's any more when I put everythng that was in that golf into my corrado I'll be playing holy f*ck! £800 insurance my ar5e, I'd rather go to prison than pay that again.

I'm paying £550 fully comp with protected NCB and windscreen cover on a standard VR6, thats with Elephant and I'm 29 years old.

I think on a Corrado you need fully comp with protected NCB because of the repair costs if you stack it.

Cheers

Ady

I'm 22, paying £1080 for a Storm using Elephant's 10 Month bonus accelerator (I have no no claims bonus as I used to be under my Mum's insurance), but I have a clean license. I was pretty chuffed with the price, was expecting it to be worse.

Corrado Storm, 5k pa, no mods, garaged. - £1,200 for the other half(24) and I (25), fully comp, 4 yrs NCD (protected). Tesco.

Other half wrote off her 205 GTI 20 months earlier. (Shame  , it was a pug but also an unmodified ex-show car).
