Topaz2008 0 Posted June 5, 2009 I phoned Chris Knott yesterday for them to beat my best quote by 10% as it states in their 3 step pledge on this Forum. They declined and said they could not beat my renewal!! :censored: So I thought I would share the details of my insurance company with the Forum :D Performance Direct - http://www.performancedirect.co.uk 0844 482 8101
VR6 0 Posted June 5, 2009 Sounds a bit off! Presumably they must have something in their T&C's that means their promise won't always be kept. Might be worth dropping Andi a PM with a link to this thread seeing as though he organised the link with them.

Leonard 0 Posted June 11, 2009 Just thought I would post up in defence slightly of Chris Knott and say that they have just smashed my nearest quote. Offering me guaranteed value, all mods declared. Protected no claims. All for £357.00 Im 34, car garaged, 8 years no claims, 6 points for speeding. Tried all the specialists Brentacre, HIC, Adrian Flux etc So thankyou Chris Knott and 'Dan' for the premium. Matt

Matt My issue is there is a 3 step method on this forum from Chris Knott insurance to under cut your current price. T & C's seam resonable as well. The reality does not match the pledge though!! If its wrong it should be changed...
Jim 2 Posted June 11, 2009 HIC are the same though. They said they'd beat any quote. Except the one I went to them with! I don't understand how they can guarantee to beat any genuine quote.. and then say they can't. Ho hum. Their loss!

I don't understand how they can guarantee to beat any genuine quote.. and then say they can't. Ho hum. Their loss! HIC pissed me off. Was all ready to take them up on the quote that they sent me. It was emailed over and stated it was valid for 14 days. Ring up 4 days after getting the quote and they move the goal posts! Now its an extra 50 quid  If you want hassle free insurance but not a guaranteed value. I still think Elephant are pretty good. Their renewal came in at £380 and I didnt go back to them to see if they would go lower. Plus you can do it all online, including adding mods. Brentacre was also very helpful, just not in the same ballpark on my quote however, over a hundred pounds more. Matt
KipVR 1 Posted June 11, 2009 Yeah but when it comes to making a claim I'd rather go through Brentacre any day, elephant were an absolute nightmare.......hence I went back to Brentacre.
