blue95 0 Posted June 11, 2009 cheers dude, what is this thermo switch you speak of? :D If you had the 16v lump it was mounted via one of the rocker cover bolts to a little stubby sensor, located on the corner of the rocker cover near the alternator, had a single wire connector. Basically just turned on the fans (separate to the 3 pin switch in the rad) after ignition was turned off to help keep all the bits and bobs cool. Basically I was looking to change mine for the g60 stubby sensor which requires the 'engine head' temp to be 90c or below.
waynos 0 Posted June 11, 2009 oh i know what you mean now, where would it fit on the 20vt? come to think of it i cant even remember where it is on the g60
blue95 0 Posted June 12, 2009 oh i know what you mean now, where would it fit on the 20vt? come to think of it i cant even remember where it is on the g60 Use one of the cam cover bolts to hold the bracket, nearest to the original position I guess. According to vagcat its on the back of the head on the G60.
