Adski 0 Posted July 10, 2009 Sooo, What Boost Guages are people Running on G60's?? Where have you mounted them? Adam.
JMC 0 Posted July 10, 2009 Autometer, sport comp, 58 or 62mm (can't remember). Excellent quality gauge. Mounted on a custom made pod, incorporating the drivers side tweeter, and sat on top of the dash (there is a pic in my build thread).
The_Dude 0 Posted July 10, 2009 I've got a analogue 15 or 20 psi revotec one for the vr but haven't hooked it up yet.
Jay2 0 Posted July 10, 2009 Top Job JMC. :notworthy: Was it difficult to plumb everything in? Which gauge do you find the most usefull for a G60?
JMC 0 Posted July 12, 2009 Top Job JMC. :notworthy: Was it difficult to plumb everything in? Which gauge do you find the most usefull for a G60? Thanks Jay2. Boost gauge was easy, just take a t piece from the boost hose going to the back of the clocks. For the AFR it is just tapped into the signal wire coming from the stock lambda. And the oil pressure gauges uses a t piece splitter on top of the oil filter housing, and runs off it's own sender. As for which is most useful, definately the boost gauge. However an oil pressure gauge is very useful to have - the last thing you want is loss of oil pressure with the charger. And the AFR (even though it narrow band) tells you a ) that the lambda probe is working and b ) that the fuelling is pretty much as it should be (cycling on tickover and part throttle, rich on WOT, and lean as you come off it). Obviously wideband would be preferable, but it is a good indication.
dirtytorque 0 Posted July 12, 2009 i run afr, boost ,oil pressure and voltage guages. All have been useful and one pint or another.Depends on the car really. You can live without all of them but it is nice and sometimes very handy to have the information to hand and a nice confidence booster to loock across at the guages to see everything as it should be. Get an air pressure guage that shows vacuum as well as boost.
