Mawrick 0 Posted August 8, 2009 Was just wondering when you guys f.ex go turbo on the VR6, is the car still regarded as "road legal", if not, is it easy to get it "road legal" in the U.K with this changes?. Reason for wondering is that it's hard to get such "permits" here....:(
Jim 2 Posted August 8, 2009 Yep.. Totally legal. You just have to pass the MOT which checks predominantly safety & drivetrain related bits of the car and an emissions test :)
Walesy 0 Posted August 8, 2009 ..and notify your insurance company! :ignore:
Jim 2 Posted August 8, 2009 Yeah.. definitely. If you're involved in an accident and the insurer discovers that you've got undeclared modifications to you car, it can completely invalidate your policy... you wouldn't want that to happen if you'd just crashed into a BMW or something! Mawrick 0 Posted August 8, 2009 da****, you guys got it simple..... *IF* we would get it road legal it would have to go thru checks and a local VW dealer would have to confirm that the car is buildt according to certan things - it would still be difficult as the Corrado wasn't delivered with more output then the VR6. After that you would also have to pay huge taxes on the added HP (roughly £100 per HP I think).

VEEDUBBED 0 Posted August 9, 2009 Same bull$hitt rules apply here in Italy mate, the only way of going about it here is to buy a G60 'raddo and turbo it,the reason being that on the log book it states that the engine is force fed from the factory. I'm screwed twice over here 'cos i can't change the wheels for bigger ones, which means that even with a 400hp engine i'm stuck with 280mm front brakes. What these stoopid bastids don't realise is that young people DO like modding their rides and are WILLING to pay to get the mods passed.
