sprinterVR6 0 Posted September 11, 2009 good morning people - just saw a C for sale at very good price for model, but it states, ''INTERMITTENT STARTING PROBLEM ONLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD''. Can I get some expert feedback as to; a. How big a problem is this b. How much to fix c. Would this be a'walk away from car now' issue? any help very much appreciated :notworthy: Cheers Iain
peppyuk 0 Posted September 11, 2009 What is it doing when it doesn't start? Is it dead? Spinning but not firing? etc etc..
davidwort 0 Posted September 11, 2009 ignition switch earth to starter could be a whole host of things, as said, really need a better description of what it does/doesn't do.
VR6 0 Posted September 11, 2009 Use the search and you could write a particularly large book on this subject. If you bothered to use the search that is ;)
sprinterVR6 0 Posted September 11, 2009 now now 'VR6' no need to be like that  - it was a geniune question which, due to my, and alot of other users on this site, lack of knowledge, was unaware of the many possible answers. I apologie for this, and will endevour to come back with a more detailed desciption.
VR6 0 Posted September 11, 2009 It was only a lighthearted dig  In all honesty, I'd be surprised if someone was able to suggest something new that hadn't been thought of before and wasn't detailed already in at least several existing threads. People complain when others advise that they can find the answer by searching .... but it is true at the end of the day :) ...and moving to Engine forum. andy 0 Posted September 11, 2009 If its only an intermittant starting problem, its pretty unlikely to be a "walk away from it now" type problem. You'd obviously need to see and hear it running anyway otherwise there could be all manner of other "serious" problems.....
too hot 0 Posted September 11, 2009 If you happen to be talking about the Storm on Ebay being sold by ----"Corrado specialists". You must ask yourself if they are "Corrado Specialists" why cant they fix it????? A £3000 Storm from a " Specialist Corrado" dealer seems to good to be true--------------- So it probably is

too hot 0 Posted September 11, 2009 What you want is the Moonlight Blue VR6 (1995) currently listeed a £995 :) I phone about this one and spoke to tha lady selling it. They have owned it from more or less new. It sounds as if it has been repaired as and when required rather than properly maintained. It has as you say done 155K but its cheap. :)

sprinterVR6 0 Posted September 12, 2009 and here's me thinking you UK lads were all low milage nuts  suppose if correctly maintained and cared for, that kind've milage (155k) though high, is stll good for another maybe 20/30k?
peppyuk 0 Posted September 12, 2009 It all depends how the car has been looked after. My Corrado has 139k, Octavia has 108k and my Fabia has 157k on the clock. They have all had new bushes bearings and ball joints but they all start on the button and drive well.
