transitman 0 Posted December 24, 2009 I have just had a nose at my rear calipers as the one on the Drivers side has just been replaced (brand new) and is binding... I investigated and found that there is a spring visable on the new caliper externally... but on the other side there isnt... the spring is catching on the subframe preventing it releasing correctly... now I think that the sprung caliper is a mk2 golf item?? I thought that the mk3 and corrados caliper had no visable spring?? Mark

Toad 0 Posted December 25, 2009 There's 2 different rear calipers fitted to the corrado, an early one, like the mk2 golf, and a late, like the mk3. One has the external spring, the other doesn't. Lucas became Girling or vice versa.
transitman 0 Posted December 25, 2009 Why is this?
Toad 0 Posted December 25, 2009 It's just progress, a revision of a part.
