Mk4 Golf Rear Callipers

Recommended Posts

Hi, my rear callipers are pretty much knackered and have heard of people fitting Mk4 rear callipers.

Was wondering excatly what do I need to carry out the conversion, where's best to get the parts from and roughly how much would it cost ?

Any advice much appriciated ! :)

Basically you need the 2 calipers and a pair of MK2-MK4 conversion hoses from Goodridge...

The above should cost about £130 + the Hoses are £25 so you can do it with brand new bits for around £150 and no exchange required on the calipers!

If old I would consider also doing new rear discs, Pads, wheel bearings, ABS rings, splash shields and handbrake cables - another £150 or so.

That was quick ! :)

Do I need new carriers as well ?

What about disc's and pads ? Do I need Mk4 items or do I use Corrado ones ?

Cheers

No, everything else Corrado including the carriers.

A few of us have changed carriers now due to corrosion and pads seizing up but they usually clean up fairly well...

Tidy ! My carriers are quite badly corroded so would need to change them. I spose my best bet would be to keep an eye out in the for sale section fo a set or can you still get them new ?

cheers
