mr.ots 10 Posted January 17, 2010 Ran a Vag Com full scan today for the first time on the C and the "Address 01: Engine" was highlighted in red and ended with: "No Faults Found or DTCs not supported by controller or a communication error ocurred" Is this the normal response for a C if there are no faults found? Vag Com was definately communicating with the ECU as I could read all of the relevant measuring blocks etc? I only ask this question because when I ran it on my MK3 it ended with: "No fault code found. Readiness: N/A" So is this the norm?
mr.ots 10 Posted January 18, 2010 Bump. Is there anyone with vag com out there who can veryify this?
fla 9 Posted January 18, 2010 are you using a genuine cable? Also, you did have the ignition on, engine off didnt you? After a scan you should get the 'error' 00513 engine speed sensor. Its not an error, its just recording that the engine is not tunning.
mr.ots 10 Posted January 18, 2010 The cable is an ebay one but seems to work fine. I can read both the Engine and ABS ECU's. I ran a scan with the ignition on/engine off and got the 00513 and with the engine on (no 00513). Measuring blocks show all the relevant data, engine rpm, temps, voltage etc. I just couldn't understand why the scan ended with "No Faults Found or DTCs not supported by controller or a communication error ocurred"" as if it may have not been communicating, when it didn't do the same on the Golf. I guess it is all working ok, just wondered if anyone else had the "01 Engine" section end with the same message?

Toad 0 Posted January 18, 2010 Do you mean you hit Auto Scan? I never bother, just go into engine, and fault codes and it's fine on a non gen cable.
Reggit 0 Posted January 18, 2010 This is a screenshot of mine after an Autoscan. Don't know if it's what you want to compare to?
