Hello guys

I did two group buy sfor the brake kits about a year + ago.

I got them at £375 everything included except brake lines which u need to get made up and from wht i hear they are about £15 +

Also i can get the big kit for the 5 stud cars aswell

If you guys want I can get in contact again with my supplier and get a group buy going again??

also iif we get about 10+ people i should be able to get them even cheaper

Also i do not make any money of this the payment goes straight to the supplier not me so there is no middle man

Slightly off-topic here, but does anyone know where the best place to get the braided brake line kit from is?

Sorry to butt in but I've just got a copy of retro cars and there a company selling Wilwood calipers for £140 each. There 4-pot billet jobies! I'm not to sure about the price of brakes but I thought they seemed a bargain.

I've been looking at some Hispec motorsport Billet 4pots, I think they are around the same price as the willwoods.

I'd be interested in 4pots but don't fancy buying some new wheels. I'm running 16's at the min with a 37offset and have heard the brembos might fit.

But I'd happily keep the 280mm discs on the front and just put some 4pots on.

Anyone got any ideas???

WEll they are and there not

You start off with £140 x 2 =£280

Then you need to have special disks, bell housings and brackets made up and from what i was getting qouted is about £200 then you need the pads and brake lines. So your basically looking at £500

with the brembo kit they are all VAG parts so when ever you need disks or pads just go into your local dealer (prob only seat but that shouldnt be a prob) and order them.

Also willwoods are known to flex under heat.

Last bit not least I had the brembos up against the porsche GT3 calipers I had and the surface area of the pads is the same it just looks like the porsche ones just had more metal round them making them a bigger heavier caliper

Rack why dont you use the the Audi UR caliper which are 2 pot. Trust me having more pots doesnt mean great massive breaking power lager disks means great stoping power.

Like a racign drive said "i rather have 310mm single pot over 280 4 pot setup".

just my 2p's worth

A couple of points to clear up please:

1. The Brembo 4-pot brakes we're talking about use larger discs than the std. discs on the VR6 (288mm?) ?

2. The rough price of £375 would be for all the parts inc. disks and pads but less brake hoses?

3. We'll need 17" with careful offset to fit?

Thanks

ok here is a few answers

first of all you need to tell me for which car ??? vr6 (5 stud) or 16v, g60, 8v (4 stud)

1, For 4 stud cars the disks are 310mm and on 5 stud cars the disks are 325

2, price for 4 stud cars is £375 last i remember price for 5stud cars £850 +/- (seat got wise after realising people where using the 4 stud car as conversion's)

3, yes you do need big wheel to go over the brakes

If there is enought interest I will get finaly figures together, at the mo its not all confirmed

Cheers for that mate, I had heard about someone using some Audi caliper before but couldn't remember which model. I'll have to look in to it.

The only thing that puts me off the Brembo's is buying 17's. But I have heard that they kick a*s!

I've just looked out of my lab window and seen an Ibiza cupra with the Brembo's on. Could this be an omen??

Oh if only I could fit them behind my 16's, or if I wasn't tight and got some 17's!!!

To Aposegil.. Any ideas where I could get those UR calipers and would they be hard to fit? Cheers mate

Just looked at the post again.. I think if your 16's have a 37mm offset the brakes will fit but it really depends on the spoke design. I know mine have that offset, but I'm not sure if the design is right, they should be ok due to them being Khan replica's (you could only get real Khan's in 15's and 17's) and flat faced and if I knew they would deff fit on mine I'd snap them up. I'll have to get an expert to look at them to se what they think.

If anyone wants to see the wheels my car should be on the gallery somewhere
