VW coupe preference list

Recommended Posts

1. Corrado

2. Late (Scala/GT2) Mk2 Scirocco

3. New Scirocco

4. Mk1 Scirocco

5. Early Mk2 Scirocco (I've never understood how such an awesome looking car in it's later years started off looking as rough as it did)

Haven't forgotten the Karmann Ghia, but can't decide where it goes on the list!

I only start this as a guy at work is convinced (and keeps telling me) the Corrado was a step down in styling :|

1) Lancia SZ

2) E30 M3 - does that classify as a coupe :D

3) 635Csi Motorsport (or M6) :D :D - absolute class, next on my collection list if I cant get an Alpina B9 in rhd

4) Capri RS3100

5) Cossie RS500

Not sure if you'd get either of the last 2 for less than £20k but they wouldnt be far off??

I'm not very broad minded when it comes to cars I'm afraid, especially with VWs :D I like very specific cars only and the Corrado is the only Coupe VW have ever made that is remotely handsome imo :D

Now, if VW were to put a tin top on this bad boy, then what a super model it would be :D

In my present state of mind.

Audi S2.

Corrado.

I don't really lust after anything else att.

Yes yes yes and once again yes, I completely agree

That S2 is a monster and I want one

Although I think that I wouldn't get a very good one for £500 on top of my VR, plus they drink a lot fuel and I don't know how they handle?

More than a hint of TT to that!

Agree that the C is way up there. Maserati 4200?

Fiat coupe

alfa Gtv

two of the best looking

I can totally agree with the Alfa GTV but the Fiat Coupe is dog ugly. The Z4 coupe i reckon is a bit of an acquired taste, but i do like it.

I really do love the Audi A5! 8)

I like the shape of the current Cayman and AM Vantage but, of course, would struggle to get either sub £20k

They also have only 2 seats.

My list looks very similar to Leonard's but in a slightly different order:

1. Corrado VR6

2. Original BMW M6 or mint 635csi

3. Audi Ur quattro 20V (with a few choice RS2 engine mods)

4. Porsche 968 CS Supercharged (with only 25K miles that's up for sale for £20K on Pistonheads atm)

5. BMW Z4M (just about squeezes in under £20K)
