Silence blanked boost return mod

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I want to quieten down the bottom of the throttle body where the orginal boost return attached too, the fuel fumes are also too much in the morning to cope with :)

Could anyone see any problems with me attaching a pipe to extend this outlet to another position other than in front of the bulk head? If this is OK how wide is the throttle outlet so I can get the right size pipe?

Cheers

Rich

Catch tank :) I have searched the forum but can't find any examples. Surely someone must have done this?

Dunno how a catchtank would cope there as there's a constant flow of air comming from the charger. (I'm no expert when it comes to catchtanks though, might be that they can cope!)

I'm just going to put a hose from the TB and down to the ground I think - away from the exhaust manifold.

As for the opening, 44.1mm outer diameter, 46mm on the "lip" at the bottom.. :-)

Shouldn't be any problems with doing this as there's either a constant flow of air (part throttle), or the butterfly is closed (wot). Just be sure to block the hole/hose or put a filter on there if you remove the charger! If you want you can just keep a filter on there all the time too.

Or you can use something like this (or buy mine as I've been meaning to put it up for sale....). Fits from the underside of the throttle body on the original hose and massively quietens it down.
