billy_whizz 0 Posted May 29, 2010 are you sure your igniton switch is not dead as we had that one and it was the switch
Kempy 0 Posted May 29, 2010 dunno, does that make the spark?
billy_whizz 0 Posted May 30, 2010 no but its quite common to loose power to the coil when the switch is dead
Kempy 0 Posted May 30, 2010 there is 12v going to the coil and around 9v leaving it when ignition is on
billy_whizz 0 Posted May 30, 2010 but what about when cranking as thats when they loose power to the coil with a bad switch
Kempy 0 Posted May 30, 2010 i couldn't test that i was on my own, worth looking at that is it?
billy_whizz 0 Posted May 30, 2010 the easiest way to check is to have the ignition on then pull the small wire from the starter the one withthe spring clip and run a wire from battey live to the connector on the starter where the small wire goes if it starts its the switch
Kempy 0 Posted May 30, 2010 to byepass the switch?
billy_whizz 0 Posted May 30, 2010 yeah just for cranking as most times when you crank if the switch is bad it will cut the power for the coil
Kempy 0 Posted May 30, 2010 ok I'll give that a go. I hope thats it
