split injector pipe advise required!

Recommended Posts

Hi all

Have a problem, one of my flexible injector pipes was splitting where it connects onto the metel pipe so i stupidy thought it would just be a case of cutting the split bit out and pushing the pipe back on, or just replacing it with abit of fuel hose. However after removing it i have realised its solid plastic and it wasnt even split inb the 1st place it was just the outer rubber skin :brickwall:

Anyhow, what can i do? I cant get the pipe back on, have tried heating it, opening it up all with no success. I have rang VW who have sold me a reel of the hose at great expense which is due in on wednesday but even when that arrvies im gona have the same problem of not being able to get it on!

Anyone got any ideas? I take it the pressure is too high to use fuel hose or they would have done it in the 1st place. Alternatively if someone has a set of the pipes for sale?

heres a picture of my horses arse behavior.

Oops!

There is up to 7 bar of pressure in those hoses, so normal fuel hose just won't cut it. If heating it up doesn't work I really don't know how you will get that new hose on yourself.

That said, I have solved problems with these before by taking the ends to a hydraulic specialist such as Pirtek and having them swage a new hose on, so it might be worth taking your new piece of VW hose to them and seeing what they can do.

Failing that, try and find someone breaking a 16V and buy a secondhand one (or set).

need to find a second hand one I reckon

a custom braided hose (which won't match the rest) isn't going to come cheap.

there was a 16v bits for sale thread on here with a meteraing head with all lines attached for 30 quid, bear in mind 1.8 and 2L 16v lines have different fittings to the injectors though.

Your pic looks like it's a 9A (2.0 16v) - the injectors / lines are different between KR and 9A I believe :(
