vagingit.co.uk 0 Posted October 26, 2010 I know the displacement is different on the PG and Rallye IH engines, but are there any other diferences? Can I use a Rallye IH bottom end with my PG Corrado cylinder head?

Toad 0 Posted October 26, 2010 DanVW has a ralleye engine in his car. I think the main one difference you'll notice is the head bolts, which are only available from VW and very expensive.
domwells27 0 Posted October 26, 2010 Some info here: http://www.clubgti.com/forum/archive/index.php?t-71847.html Looks like the 1H had oil jets on the bottom end, not sure if this effects comaptibility though

dannyboy 0 Posted October 27, 2010 i had IH from a rallye in my raddo, only difference i could rememeber was the displacement was bit smaller,i think  Still when like sh*t off a shovel though and heard somewhere that the block is reineforced but i dont know how true that is As toad said i think it was head bolts from a rallye was needed but a PG head will bolt straight on
domwells27 0 Posted October 27, 2010 Yh, the displacement was slightly smaller to meet FIA criteria to race in a certain class. There may be some truth in the reinforced block theory if it was designed for racing.
