mk4 caliper/ handbrake cable issue

I bought and had a garage fit a set of handbrake cables from ECP. The end of the cable is not the same as the ones that were taken off. There was a ball on the end that sits on the hook that pulls the lever. My new ones dont have a ball, just a bit of metal on the end and they just dont work with the mk4 calipers, the gap on the lever is too large for the end of the cables I got..

Sound like you have the wrong cables, I brought some from the dealers and they have the balls on the end and work fine with my MK4 calipers

mk4 calipers work with the original cables ;)

Wrong cables but I actually bought some not so long ago from Euro and they were correct - not quite as good quality as the VW ones I was comparing to though.
