OllieVR6 0 Posted August 8, 2011 Not sure if this is the right place, so sorry if it isn't! I've just ordered a battery bracket/clamp (the part to hold it to the battery tray) from VW and was told the original part was obsolete and that they had ordered me one from a Lupo instead. Apparently it needs to be modified to fit. Is this normal? I've never heard of this before....I don't mind, just seems a bit odd. Waiting for my Dad to collect it for me, so I'll post pictures once it arrives.
davidwort 0 Posted August 8, 2011 surprises me it's obselete, those clamps were used on so many VW's, did you lose the old one then? or just want a shiny new one :) should be able to find them second hand pretty easily as they are such a common part. OllieVR6 0 Posted August 8, 2011 Oh, didn't even think to check second hand, whoops! I've never had one, not sure how it wasn't picked up on it's MOT last year but I noticed it was loose so I got one ordered in.
Supercharged 2 Posted August 8, 2011 Yeah it's weird - you need to dremel a bit off but as David says just get one from a MK3 Golf etc in a breakers
