Kempy 0 Posted September 30, 2011 Is there a repair kit for the toothed belt on a 9A? cant find one on ETKA, I bought one from TPS I thought but it turns out its not the right kit. My fault I didn't look at the belt its way too skinny. I got a tensioner to but that looks fine. but its the right part number for the belt kit. Its odd lol Cheers Ryan
davidwort 0 Posted September 30, 2011 Eh? Not sure what you mean, so you need a timing belt and tensionner for the 9a, there's nothing else???
Kempy 0 Posted September 30, 2011 thats what I thought. Its just on other engine codes there is a 'repair kit for toothed belt' which I seem to have. 037 198
Supercharged 2 Posted October 1, 2011 No, due to the tensioner change there is no cam belt kit for a 16v TPS keep the g60 kit on the shelf so should swap it, always order using reg number!
boost monkey 0 Posted October 1, 2011 repairing a cambelt sounds like a real bodge as opposed to swapping it - why would anyone make such a thing? It just gives the Corrado more cause to bite you in the jewels!
davidwort 0 Posted October 1, 2011 I think Ryan just meant a cambelt kit, i.e. belts and tensionners required to renew the timing gear, more complex on most 16v engines than the kr/9a/abf, you often need 2 tension rollers and a second inter cam belt. The thought of repairing a toothed timing belt makes the mind boggle, super glue and a bit of hand stitching perhaps LOL
