Jim Bowen 1 Posted November 12, 2011 Took off all the plastic tubing about can coke diameter, goes to the thottle body part of inlet. Have always had a very oily engine and just assumed it was coming from rocker gasket, but was quite a bit of oil in the end of plastic tube and looked like it had been running out of there somewhere. Is that normal for oil to be in there? Don't some people modify something here? oil breather?
dannyboy 0 Posted November 12, 2011 sounds like the breather pipe, pics of the pipe would help
floppyman 0 Posted November 12, 2011 It is normal to be a bit of oil in the intake becouse the engine oil breather is connected to it, you can have a oil catch tank installed, or like some people to save some money they put a filter on it. Dont recomend the later mainly due to being ilegal and fail mot. I would say dont bother about it..... Unless you have a g60. On my vr6 I had a problem that it was burning oil, turned out the valve guides were worn and it was spitting oil to the intake trought the breather

VWVW 1 Posted November 12, 2011 http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?50827-What-are-these-parts-on-a-VR6&highlight=pcv+vwvw Have a look at this thread all you need to know with pictures of the PCV part. Inside the PCV there is a disk shape filter of some sort that will stop oil going up the intake pipe yours may have perished.
