owen g60 10 Posted February 27, 2012 Replace your temp senders on the front of the block. About £30 for the pair from VW
SamG40 0 Posted February 27, 2012 I've had this exact problem for the last year. I've swapped out the relevant sensor and that hasnt solved the issue in my case. I've also swapped the relay that the signal goes through and the clocks. Still the same. I'm thinking its something to do with a break in a wire somewhere. Riley 0 Posted February 28, 2012 ^^ Definitely. When the needle jumps up it means that there's a break somewhere.

davidwort 0 Posted February 28, 2012 Thats why I've had the issue for a year! I just dont know where to start with the rats nest of wiring. In the engine bay at the sensor, that's where the wires get hot/cold and the insulation breaks down and the copper corrodes.
