VWVW 1 Posted March 5, 2012 I purchased some second hand front VR6 hubs recently and today I took them to a garage to have the front wheel bearings pressed out. They managed to press the old bearings out fine but on closer inspections when I got back it seems that they have somehow bended the metal abs rings in the process. Should I just source another set of metal rings and not bother to try and get them knock back into shape as I dont think it will be perfect again and may affect the abs sensors. owen g60 10 Posted March 5, 2012 these rings dont have to be perfectly straight... although it is desired. I think they can be got cheaply from GSF or similar. I left mine on and straightened them as best i could... hasnt caused any ABS errors and the system still works fine... your call really
aide 0 Posted March 5, 2012 as above they can be straightened easily enough and continue working even if there is a little eneveness, mine were/ are the same.
Jim Bowen 1 Posted March 6, 2012 i bended mine back into shape, but they weren't too bended in the first place. I would say it was very minor bendage
