Dodger 10 Posted April 17, 2012 First off, I removed the G60 supercharger and bypassed it. I was on the test drive and drove about 6 miles. When I came to a stop infront of my car park, it stalled. When I attempted to restart it, it just cranks. After pushing it to its parking spot, it will skip start and die if I push the pedal to the floor when cranking? Any ideas? Mind you the car was sitting for seven years prior to my ownership. The fuel pump, filter, fresh tank of petrol, pressure regualtor, belts, sparking plugs, dizzy cap, rotor and wires are all new. davidwort 0 Posted April 17, 2012 is the fuel pump running? (buzzing) could be fuel pump relay are you getting a spark too?
Dodger 10 Posted April 17, 2012 The fuel pump is new, but I will check the pressure when I get home from work. I keep reading more and more about the crank pulley woodruff key or bolt breaking. I guess I have a few things to check when I get home from work. Dodger
devilmatt 0 Posted April 17, 2012 I think if the crank pulley bolt had broken it would have been a more alarming sound to the engine stalling. Plus I would imagine it would be very obviously not right as soon as soon as you tried to restart it.
Dodger 10 Posted April 17, 2012 I agree, Just brainstorming, since there is nothing I can do about till after work today.
owen g60 10 Posted April 17, 2012 ECU relay... G60s seem to eat them for a past time... ive been through 4 or 5 in the last year. Any relay numbered 30 or 32 will do the job... i found loads in a breakers yard in various different VAG cars
Wullie 1 Posted April 17, 2012 Worth checking all the hoses, as you have bypassed the charger. One may have slipped loose or have a massive air leak.
Dodger 10 Posted April 17, 2012 Ok, so I ordered a fuel pump relay, ECU relay, and the ECU coolant temp sensor, should be at the auto shop before I get off work. I will pick them up on the way home. Just hope the rain holds out till I can mend it.
Dodger 10 Posted April 18, 2012 I guess it will have to wait till tomorrow, the ECU relay did not come in. I installed the new coolant sensor and fuel pump relay. Still no luck. The spark plugs are wet, so I am guessing it is not getting any spark. I may pick up a new coil as well.
VW_OwneR_85 2 Posted April 18, 2012 could it be something as simple as a loose battery terminal?
Dodger 10 Posted April 18, 2012 could it be something as simple as a loose battery terminal? You know, I never checked that, one more thing to add to the list. I guess this is why I love this car so much, mostly because I have to spend so much time with it. I don't have time for anything else.

I guess this is why I love this car so much, mostly because I have to spend so much time with it. I don't have time for anything else. a few weeks ago when i got my car back in the shed the fans came on as normal but they were realy realy slow! i was like eh? so i lifted the bonnet to find my battery had shifted over forceing the wireing against the fan so it was rubbing!! i swear i did the battery clamp up ! clearly i didnt! ooops :) could of been worse luckily the wires havent rubbed through. owen g60 10 Posted April 18, 2012 really does sound like ECU relay. mine would cut out when slowing down... then restart if left for a few minutes. Replaced relay all is now good
Dodger 10 Posted April 19, 2012 Alright Mates, I am lost! Pretty much new everything. It start today after the new ECU relay. However it drives horribly. It misses real bad, and feels like it is lacking fuel. It is sitting at idle with 43 psi fuel pressure. Any ideas?
